***Metronidazole for Peacocks Metronidazole is a must have medication for Peacocks. The tablets are especially effective when a Peacock is too sick to eat or drink. Just go off to the side of the trachea and poke the tablet down the throat. The dosage is 250 mgs for a grown Peacock and 125 mgs for a peacock less that one year. Or 25 mgs per pound of weight. Give the tablets for 5 to 7 days. Metronidazole will treat Coccidiosis, Blackhead, Canker and Heximitia. Symptoms of advanced cases are a lethargic Peacock going light with red or yellow in the poop.
